Our Origin
In early 1999 a group of citizens coming from different walks of life got together to discuss concerns they shared about the state of affairs in Sikkim. These concerns ranged from the environment, education, health, social problems, unemployment, poverty, changing demographic patterns, the state of the economy to governance. The organization was formed with a view to addressing the issues emanating from these various areas in partnership with the people of Sikkim and state government authorities.
Sikkim Development Foundation is a non-profit, non-government, non-political and non-sectarian organization with headquarters in Gangtok, Sikkim, India. It is registered with the Government of Sikkim, India under Serial No. 1057 Volume No.1.
